LibreOffice

LibreOffice is a complete office suite maintained by The Document Foundation and a large volunteer community. It installs on Windows, macOS and Linux and does not require an account or subscription.

The suite is made of separate but connected applications: Writer for documents, Calc for spreadsheets, Impress for presentations, Draw for diagrams and simple layouts, Base for small databases and Math for formulas. Its native format is the open OpenDocument standard, and it can also open and save common Microsoft Office files, which makes it practical for exchanging work with people who use other suites.

LibreOffice suits students, home users, schools and small offices that want a full desktop office package without licence costs. Because it runs locally, documents stay on your own computer unless you choose to store them elsewhere. Download it only from libreoffice.org, which also links to the official extensions and templates site.
