Overview

Blender is a free and open-source 3D creation suite developed by the Blender Foundation together with a global community. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux.

Blender covers the whole 3D pipeline in one application: modeling, sculpting, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking. It includes the Cycles path-tracing renderer and the real-time EEVEE renderer, plus tools for 2D animation and a built-in video editor. Python scripting allows automation and custom add-ons.

Blender is used by hobbyists, students, independent game developers and professional studios. Because it is so capable, it takes time to learn, but there is a very large community and many tutorials. Projects you create are yours to use however you like. Download Blender from blender.org; the same site provides the official manual and long-term support releases.
