Official Source Verification Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Statuses

Official Source Verified: an administrator checked the URL and confirmed it belongs to the official developer, publisher or authorized platform.

Needs Review: the source has not been verified yet.

Reported: a user reported a possible problem that we are reviewing.

Unavailable: the official source is no longer available or could not be confirmed.

How a listing is verified

An administrator confirms ownership using evidence such as the developer’s own website linking to its store listings, the store listing naming the same developer, matching official domains, or a publisher’s official announcement. The date of the check is recorded and shown as “Last verified”.

What does not count

Submitting a URL, paying for promotion, or appearing in search results never earns verification on its own.

Ongoing monitoring

Links are re-checked on a schedule. Redirects within the same official domain are noted; redirects to a different domain, missing pages and repeated errors are sent to an administrator. We never replace an official URL automatically, and a timeout alone never marks a site as unsafe or unavailable.

Changes to official links

If an official link is edited, the badge is removed until an administrator re-verifies it.
